Our Story

 

At Melbourne Mushrooms, we're looking to the future of farming, and envisioning how agricultural opportunities can arise in small spaces.

In their final days as University students, Michael and Liam Beardsmore (two brothers) felt inspired to throw themselves into meaningful, hands-on work.
The brothers have grown up close to seasoned farmers, with relatives in Zimbabwe who are always at the cutting edge of traditional crop-farming.
Inspired by their families innovative and free-thinking lifestyles, Michael and Liam set to merge their dreams of farming with the urban environment of Melbourne.


At their current warehouse in Melbourne, they have successfully transformed concrete walls and floors into a thriving mushroom farm, which requires rainforest-like conditions for happy mushrooms to grow.

 

Today, our team specializes in growing delicious gourmet and medicinal mushrooms,
which are proudly 100% cultivated at our farm.
Our goal is to provide fresh, healthy produce to our local community.
