Grow Kit Guide

Choosing your Grow Kit Location
Find a space indoors, where there’s indirect light entering the room.
Place the box in a shaded area. Your mushrooms are phototropic, meaning they will grow towards a light source.
The ideal temperature is between 15°c and 20°c.

Starting your kit
Start by removing the peel of square at the front of the box.
Sterilize a knife (with alcohol or heat), and cut 2 diagonal lines to form an ‘X’ shape in the bag.

Now you have created 4 triangles in the bag, these will help store water underneath, and prevent the substrate from drying out.

Watering and maintenance
You will need to water the substrate 3 times a day.
Moderately spray water with a spray bottle, or sprinkle water from under a tap.
Make sure to dampen all the substrate under the plastic flaps.

Once the mushrooms start appearing, water the surface of the mushrooms 3 times a day.

Harvesting your crop
Harvest your mushrooms before the caps completely flatten out, as this is when they’re at their largest and tastiest.

To remove your mushrooms, use your hands to slowly break off the entire bunch by twisting and lifting at the base. Do not cut off the mushrooms, as leaving stems behind will cause rotting.

Now the substrate is ready for a second (and hopefully third) flush!  Just remove all remaining mushroom mass, then keep watering to continue the process.

Contaminations
As your kit ages, it's possible for mould to begin growing on the surface or on decaying mushroom pins. Don't be alarmed, as healthy mushroom will still be able to grow.
If mould starts to grow on your mushrooms, discard of the mushroom and don’t eat it!

End of Production
Once your mushrooms have used up all the nutrients in the bag, it will stop producing mushrooms and become idle. Now the mycelium has died, and becomes great nutrients for plants! You can recycle your kit by adding it to your compost pile or mixing it into your garden as fertilizer.
